How can I fix my Aeg Competence 4100 (about 7 years old)?

Two of the round temperature dials (for main oven and grill) have become very difficult to turn off as if there is grease or something behind the facia. I have taken the dials out but the recesses are clean. The facia is not screwed on but presumably glued. Is this a typical problem easy to fix do I have to resort to AEG's service department?

could require new thermostats if the shafts have seized up.I have had this happen before
