Vauxhall vectra b model.non starter?

Hi i have a 2000 model vauxhall vectra b model, recently it cut out and didnt want to start again,i checked there was enough fuel , a good spark and also put new plugs in, it turns over as it should but wont fire , we tried tow starting it and it stated up quickly i drove it 2 miles and then back home, turned it off and same problem, would not start on key , just turns over but wont start , and doesnt seem to fire up. When its running its sweet and drives great, Any ideas please, Andy Bournemouth.

If the engine is definitely turning over on the starter (you can see the auxiliary belt turning when engine cranking) it may just be a slightly weak battery, or wrong grade of battery. Have you tried a new battery or jump leads?
If the belt is not moving when cranking but the starter is spinning it could be stripped gear teeth on the starter or ring gear.
