Hoover Nextra tumble dryer seemed to take a little longer to dry the clothes than normal but as it is in shed I thought it was to do with the cold weather. Then I discovered it with the lights flickering and the drum not turning and a dreadful burning smell?? Any ideas gratefully received as I dont want to have to replace just after christmas.
I have a candy GOC218 which makes a buzzing noise when switched but does not tumble at all. After a few seconds a clicking noise can be heard followed by the buzzing noise again. After a short while the clean filter signal light comes on. I have cleaned the filter and the condenser. When I open the tumble dryer there is a burning smell and the element in the back of the tumble dryer is glowing.
