how do you program a 2001 y 2.3 galaxy key fob ?

got a 2 button fob 5WK4 790/97/98 433.92 MHZ siemens, led in drivers door,bought a new key fob and put the transponder in from my old broken key.
i can open door manually and start the car but i can't open by using the remote to unlock anyone know how thankyou

thanks for the replys,i only want to be able to open & lock car via remote as car starts with the key.
ive already tried that procedure and two others i found but they dont work.
key flashes 5 times but door led don't, thankyou

It will have to be programmed to the car using diagnostics equipment.

The key-in-the-lock method is only to re-synchronise a key which is already programmed to your car.

put key in drivers door lock turn to open 3 times in 5 secs led in door lit press and hold lock button then press unlock button 3 times release lock button led in remote flashes 5 times led in door 6 times to confirm progammed
