Miele G1270 dishwasher fault code F14?

My Miele dishwasher (model G 1270) won't start. We've loaded it and put it on "Sensor wash". It makes some noises for a couple of minutes and then stops, drains itself and beeps continuously with the message "F14" on the digital display. There is some water inside, but it doesn't seem hot or to have started cleaning.

Amazingly managed to fix a Miele G1230 following procedure above for the F14 error. A Youtube video showing the circulation pump helped. I didn't take the pump apart as once it was out I saw the obstructing objects - remnants of a balloon, an olive and a screw. Put it all back slightly worried that it might leak but all seems ok the dishwasher works.... went through a quick cycle without any problems immediately.

I discovered a simple solution that has stopped the F14 error on my 2010 model Miele dishwasher.

After doing all the cleaning, checks for blockages, rotating impeller etc nothing was working. The pump and drainage all sounded good (normal) but the machine would stop after 4 minutes. I began to think it was a sensor problem or perhaps a problem with the water pressure to my home. After trying the following, amazingly, I haven't had the F14 error for over a month.

As you can hear at the start of the auto wash program, the dishwasher drains any leftover water. When the machine starts to fill again, wait 10-20 seconds, open the door and pour in 4 litres of cold water. Close the door and the machine should keep going to the end of the program.

Not sure actually why this worked but I haven't needed to repeat the process again.

I'm going with a sensor issue.

Discovered round rubber seal 06082320 lodged in pump impeller.
This is the rubber seal from the "Rinse Aid" dispenser lid.
I found it lodged inside the water circulation pump impeller causing an F14 fault report due to lack of pressure. It should not have got past the filters of course!

I had the same problem on my G1222 dishwasher. The problem turned out to be a blockage in the impeller on the circulation pump. I made the repair myself and anyone with good DIY skills could make this repair. Disconnect from electric and water supply. Turn the machine upside down and remove the bottom panel. The circulation pump is scured by a single screw in the back panel. remove this. make a careful note of all the electrical connections and also the hose connections and then remove then. Wiggle the circulation pump free and when possible remove the packing piece which fits between the end of the pump and the dishwasher casing. With the pump on the bench remove the end of the pump by remove 2 screws and prising open the two small clamps. Carefully clean out the end of the impeller removing all debris. Reassemble by reversing these instructions. Good Luck, give it a try it is not as daunting as it first looks

blocked or jammed wash pump

how do I find the non return valve??

Thanks Tony.

We spoke to Miele and did the basic maintainance but that didn't help, so called out an engineer. He diagnosed the problem as a faulty pump which he had to replace to get it working again.

Thinking back we had a blocked drain and hadn't used the dishwasher since it was fixed. I suspect that the pump was damaged when it was unable to pump water down the drain (it filled the kitchen sink instead).

Miele just gave me this answer to my same question re a G1230:
<
Please be advised that F14 on your model of dishwasher is indicating a blockage, poor water pressure or could be a fault with the pump pressure level switch or circulation pump.

We advise that the filter and non return valve is cleaned of any blockages and if the fault persists an engineer is arranged. To book an engineer please call our Customer Support Centre on 01235 554466
