hi all i have a piaggio zip 50 2 stroke i taken it for the MOT the other day and it failed on the rear shock absorber.so obviousley i had to take the plastics off. i put them back on after i fitted the new shocker now my ped starts up for a few seconds with the revs on slightley then it just cuts out. i have changed the spark plug so i am wondering if anyone has come across this problem before and solved it? if so could you please help me thanks lee.

I have the same problem, well similar. My scooter was stolen and we mamanged to get it working but then all of a sudden it stopped. THere are 2 nosels on the bottom of the fuel tap. The first connects to fuel line , what does the second connect to? I feel this is the problem but am not sure .

just put it back on again if it has come off mate ,check the ends of the pipe for splits as they often split and come off because of that.

i would say you have pulled the vaccum hose off the fuel tap or off the carb and the bike is literally runnning on fumes,you may have extended the pivot of the engine to frame more than it usually moves as the rear shock was out whcih may have tugged on the pipe.check the fuel tap it will have two hoses on it the bottom one is the vaccum hose and the one on the side is the fuel hose
