the pump that lifts the water from the tank in the base does not work, so machine keeps saying 'empty water'. no water in top tank, i have taken the pump out and apart, it all looks fine. Is the pump operated for short periods on a timer, or is it triggered by the water sensor that is fitted to the plastic plate that the pump gets fitted into.?
