How can I fix my bt synergy 5500 phone?

The phone will not hold its charge. Its fine at recharging on its current old batteries, but when you take a call, the phone cuts out. I have tried using new duracell regargable batteries, but the phone refuses to show its screen - even when i have fully charge the batteries before hand. Is it time for that big green recycling box in the sky, or is there a chabce that the hand set can be salvaged?

These phone don't take regular AAA 1.5v batteries.

You need to purchase AAA 1.2v Batteries. You can get them from BT, the number to call is in the manual.

Or you can search the Internet. Amazon has them.
