when riding my 50cc scooter i accelerate to 50kmh and it loses power do you know what could be wrong and if so how can i fix it

it may just be getting lower on compression as the engine wears or my have a partially blocked exhaust pipe they block up gradually with burnt 2 stroke oil,did it do it all of a sudden or did it gradually get slower?as it may have had a partial seizure that would leave it low on compression.

thanks very much 4 ur reply...u can stay at 50 and when letting the throttle off and then back on it will go back up 2 50kmh but this is only 30mph and it used to get up 2 65kmh-70kmh is there anything else it might be..although the bike is fairly old it's only done around 12000 miles.

does the power sort of come and go when your flat out? usually it will start slowing down when flat out then as it slows down it will get to a certain speed then pick up again and so on...if so then its probably just the rev limiter kicking in it is supposed to do this and its just to stop you blowing it up.
