gilera dna kickstart jammed?

gilera dna kickstart jammed up i took case off and front pully, rollers etc and nothing noticably wrong how ever i put the nut that holds the pully on and with a spanner i turned the engine to see if the piston rises to the top of the barrel. after almost a full rotation it becomes very stiff to complete the full rotation,it does complete the rotation but only under quite alot of force. however if i reverse the rotation when it starts to become stiff, the piston seems to move freely? any ideas what this could be? cheers

also mate

do you know roughly how much it would cost to fix these bearings at a garage if i dropped the engine and stripped the head, barrel and side casings?

cheers

hello mate yes it is still stiff with the plug out but only at the end of the rotation (starts to feel crunchy), before it happened it was making a rattling noise from behind the front pully, took it all off to check rollers etc but nothing noticably wrong. if it is a bearing this will be a BIG job wont it?

It sounds like either a bearing is breaking up liike a main bearing or a big end bearing or the cylinder is hydrauliced on liquid either fuel or coolant it may be that the carb is flooding and filling up the cylinder with fuel or it could be that the head gasket has gone and its leaking coolant into the cylinder.does it still go stiff with the spark plug out ?
