Candy CDI 1012/2-80 dishwasher door;how to open jammed latch?

Small bolt holding door locking strap came off inside machine. Cannot remove strap from latch so cannot rebolt it inside machine. How do I release latch? Tried force using long nosed pliers on latch without success.
