how can i fix my ford orion?

how can i fix the speedometer in my ford orion ghia si year 1993
it would seem a cable has broken loose and my speedo races ahead eventually going off the dial and is making a high pitch noise as it does so

you need to change the cable. unscrew the dials then unclip the cable and pull out the inner if it has snapped trace outer to gearbox and undo the cable only NOT the speedo drive and fit new cable in reverse order as taken apart.....
