How do I change my rear brake pads pn my 1995 Mercury Sable?

I need instructions, and tools needed to change my rear brake pads for a 1995 Mercury sable. The problem is that I cannot get the pads to fit because the old ones are so worn that the new ones are too big.

If this car has disc brakes then you need to push the piston on the cylinder back so that you create more space between the brake pads. There is spacialist tools to do this that you can get at any hardware store. If this is a drum brake then there’s probably some kind of adjustment screw inside the drum but that varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

i suggest sending it to your local car shop and they will get that all taken care of for you. dont mess with your brakes yourself if you dont kno what to do, messing with the brakes is really messing with your life cause you dont want to loose all your brakes while driving down a hill... so send it to a shop.
