How can I fix my Hotpoint TDC32P?

I've removed the thermostats from the back of the dryer after identifying them as the most likely source of a fault with the dryer not heating, from tips from this site. Unfortunately i spotted the advice to photograph them in place, too late. I have new stats on order but does anyone know whether the one marked with a green spot goes on the right or the left as your looking at the back of the dryer?

Drum turning but getting no heat, my findings on my TDC32P are that thermostat on the right does not buzz out when putting my meter accross, tried putting a link wire in place of the thermostat and hey presto the heat came back again, incidently the thermostat on the right had a green dot on it, brown/purple wire to left of it, single purple wire to the right of it. The thermostat on the left hand side has no green dot and has single orange wires going into both sides, this did buzz through with my meter so i'm assuming the green dot thermostat only needs replacing. I will let you know the outcome guys. thanks for the previous peoples details, it may well have save me a fortune in engineers fees etc.. and may well have earnded me a few house points with HRH

£17.99 for a set. Careful not to depress the green spot one, it wrecks it. Had to fix mine by gluing on a peg and pulling it back out and then carefully removing the adhesive.

the green spot one goes on the left as you look at the back of the machine. WE have the same problem and need to purchase some. How much are theY?!

hi to check to see if the stats are faulty in first place place a meter accoss the teminals and you should get a reading as you would witrh a switch otherwise tempory link the wires out join them together with tape and it should heat up but use this methode only as a test to check to check to see if the stats are suspect for a very short time only
