Hi - Renault Clio 2003 Dynamique 1.2 both key fobs not working?

Hi

My Renault Clio 2003 1.2 Dynamique key fobs have stopped working. I tried the spare key fob which has rarely been used and the problem persists.

The red light flashes but the central locking does not lock or unlock.

Any suggestions much appreciated.
