Just got my son a gilera dna 125, was running ok then he went app, 2 mile then it started to run rough. Then would not start seemed tight when turning over as if timing was out backfired a few times checked in rocker cover rockers etc. all seem fine would it be timing or can it slip

the ignition timing cannot slip as it has cdi electronic ignition but the valve timing can slip but only if the cam chain tensioner isnt working correctly.this model you have is prone to big end bearings seizing and also they drop valves.unlike the two valve leader engine that the piaggio et4 uses your has a 4 valve leader engine that the gilera runner vx uses and a few other piaggio models.
