Hi, i have a grinding noise when using the driver's side electric window, it sounds like broken glass grinding. The window is nearly closed but i had to force it up by hand whilst pressing the button. I don't think there's anything up with the motor.
My car is an 1800 ford focus zetec a 3 door hatchback 2001

The motor will be fine. However the window regulator will have broken (wire snaps). Makes a noise like grinding broken glass...
Replacement regulator required.
(Had this on my car last year).
