Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator Iron?

After switching on, the iron heats up but does not produce any steam when the button on the handle is pressed. Also the steam light continues flashing on the base.

Unfortunately I cant fix it but can sympathise - mine is doing the same thing - model GV8360!!
