accenta 6 alarm system?

Hi there.I have an accenta 6 alarm system which has always worked fine and never been a problem.I had to switch off the mains to the house to do some work, but since switching the power back on the panel with all the numbers on to set and unset the alarm has no power to it at all,the siren box on the outside of the house still has the red led flashing from one side to another as it always has.And the main power control unit still has the red light on to show that their is power to the unit, just wondering if anyone had any ideas,thanks...

My yuasa np2.8ah battery needs replacing.will the accenta 6 alarm system allow me to replace it with a yuasa np3.2np battery or should l replace it with a yuasa np 2.8 battery? The external dimensions of both batteries are the same.

Hi I have an accenta g4 mini system and have two bell boxes, front and back of the house. I have a six core from the panel to each of the boxes. As far as I can see the connections are all in correct terminals. But there is no sound or light signalling once in alarm mode. But just has a red led on all the time but. Instruction manual says there should be flashing lights.
Thanks for any help

I have a Accenta 8 mini alarm system.

I recently took the keypad panel off to wipe the key pad circuit board. i put the keypad panel back on which was great.

However a few days on i keep getting a Tamper led on and the alarm goes off. Even if the alarm is not set.

I can happen once a day or every other day or even twice a day. I have to put in my code and reset every time

Any ideas????

How can I turn the alarm off completly as I never use it

Orch, February 2010
just reset the system using the "Sunny method" Many thanks -

Ron I, December 2009
Sunny method by far the best. I did need to change 1 fuse on my Accenta 8 before the Sunny method worked but it worked like a dream and all systems now fully restored. Sincere thanks, probably paid half of my internet costs in saved call out charges

Hi how do i swop my down stairs accentra key box to upstairs

tim, September 2009
Just moved to rented house. We noticed the blue light flashing on box, nobody knows the code. What can we do please we would like to use the alarm system if possible?
The programer on wall is accentra with reset chime etc.

Bob Fitzgerald, September 2009
Its simple!! Turn all your fuses off then back on again.. The alarm will go off for a few minutes it will then stop and yu will be able to reset the alarm... Simply type in your codes and it will reset!! It is honestly as simple as that!!

hi all..could you please help me with this question! i have a accenta 6 alarm ,for which just recently the bell box siren went faulty so i ordered a replacement like for like..i switched the power off to the alarm so that i can install the new siren ..the new siren on installing sounded whilst up the ladder for which i guess was due to internal battery connected,i refitted bell box cover no problem! and punch in my four number code to turn off alarm sounding outside and to reset the system.all was fine, but now for some reason on going out for the day i went to set the alarm and the keypad is not responsing to code, after several attempts i entered 1234 nothing happened?also tried 4321 still no response..the day light is on and power light is on,so im puzzled by this ..please could you help me with my question,i would be greatful .glenn w

Your panel processor has locked out.Remove mains supply and internal battery to reboot system. Suspect you need a new battery.

I had a similar problem to that of Cormac.
Power light on but nothing else.
I followed Graham's advice:-
"you may have to open the front cover on the main panel and look for the terminals marked PA there should be a pair of wires in these terminals, take them out and use a short piece of cable to put back in to these two terminals, once you have refitted the cover you should be able to press the reset button twice and regain control of the system"
and got the power to the keypads but the tamper light stayed on.
I then followed Sunny's advice:-
you need a full power down - ie.

Switch off mains
Open lid to main panel
Take away one battery lead
Switch mains back on
Put in code
Put back battery clip
Close lid
Press reset
The end"
My system is now up and running perfectly.
Thanks Graham and Sunny.

Peter K, March 2009
I followed Grahams instructions on this one and it sorted me out ie was able to regain control of the alarm. thanks Graham. What about the 2 wires removed from PA terminals though.. What was their function in life?, as they are now redundant with a link in to connect terminals 13 & 14.
thanks
cormac

Hi Sunny

I wonder if you or anyone else could help. We have moved into a house that has an Accenta alarm system installed. There are 2 PIR's also, one in the lounge and one on the landing. We changed the code when we moved in and all was working fine. We decided to decorate the kitchen. On the kitchen wall is an unsightly small 3 inch wide by 5 inch high (approx), silver box. It has an opening at the top of the box and inside is a piece of wood. The front panel of the box has a keyhole and there is a key. By turning the key just moves the box up and down. There is a similar box on the landing as well we've noticed. There are no wires or anything going into these silver boxes and so, having no idea what these silver boxes are, and because they are unsightly, I decided to remove it when we were decorating. However, as I tried to do this it activated the alarm. I entered the code which turned the alarm off, but left the alarm keypad unresponsive. The, Attack, Day and Power lights were illuminated. I opened the alarm central control panel and took a wire off the battery, fiddled with the silver box again to see if I could work out what it does, this time the alarm didnt activate so I went back to the keypad and in addition to the Attack, Day and Power lights, the Tamper light is now on.

Then I read your solution above, I unclipped a battery lead, turned off the mains power, and this activated the alarm, we keyed in our code which de-activated the alarm, we clipped the battery lead back in, but once again the keypad is unresponsive and now the Day light has gone out but the Attack, Tamper and Power lights are on.

I've looked at the glass fuses and they all seem ok. Could you help advise us what we need to do to rerstore our alarm to a functioning one, and what are these blasted silver boxes for?

Thank you.

Andie, January 2008
fuse in juntion box has blown should be near control panel, if not there is a fuse inside tha control paner where the power leads merge

Tyrone, January 2008
you have probably blown one of the glass fuses inside the main control box !!!

peter, May 2007
you need a full power down - ie.

switch off mains
open lid to main panel
take away one battery lead
switch mains back on
put in code
put back battery clip
