My Peugeot Ludix Snake wont cold start!?

Had starting problems with the 50cc Ludix Snake, replaced the exhaust with a new one, got a replacement carb but it still wont 'cold' start! what else should i try??

My ludix blaster since day one of buying it wouldn't start plenty of fuel and spark so cleaned the jets and lifted the needle 1mm with a washer (no needle adjustments) it now runs and starts nice, maybe Peugeot had to run them lean for emissions :-)

wow thats not cheap is it,they dont do a universal one as they are all different sizes i think these bikes use a gurtner carb so i would suggest just buying a used carb of ebay mate

Thanks mate, looked at that and it is the auto choke, can i replace with a universal one (cheaper) or do I need to go for the expensive genuine part (about £100)????

well if the fuel is fresh and the carb jets are definately clean including the choke jet then it may be either a faulty auto choke or it may be low on compression, also if the tick over has been wound in too far it will not start as it gets too much air when it wants more fuel,so basically if you ahve turned the tickover up to get it to idle then the reason for having to turn it up may be a lack of compression and the open throttle will not let it start.
