Veritas alarm?

I have had to cut through the cable that runs to the dummy box at the rear of my house to allow for the stairs on a new loft conversion and have set off the tamper alarm. I have stopped the alarm from ringing but the tamper light is still on and it will not allow me to reset the alarm.
The installers service department asked for £120 call out without any idea of how the fault could be repaired and no idea when an engineer would be availabe(I live 2 hundred yards from thier offices).
If anyone knows how to reset my alarm to a workable mode it would be appreciated.

Firstly if it is a "Dummy Box" there is no cable to it.
You have cut another cable.

Their call out charges are thier affair, that is what they charge. The repair, of course they have no idea until they attend.
I`ll tell you what you have done at minimum, cut a door contact cable, so it needs repairing, maybe rerunning. Or even a new fuse somewhere in the panel.

Sounds like your not on a maintanence contract hence the higher charge and non time commital, they have paying customers they see to first under contract.

So in a nutshell, work it out yourself or pay up.
We dont know what device is being served, the colours used withing the sheaf you cut.
If you can afford a loft conversion whats another £120 quid for something done correctly?

Or ask your sparks, he`ll know what to do...............
