my peugeot speedfight 1 50cc was running fine until i went up a hill one day i pushed it home found out to be the crank bearing so brought a new engine put it in and got it running just!!!!! i left it for 5 minuits and it died i got it running again and it ticks over for 10 seconds and then dies if you rev it up it then backfires out of the exhaust and dies any ideas

it sounds like its running weak ,a backfire is often caused by a weak mixture and if you say it runs for a while and cuts out then thats more evidence of weak running,get the carb off it and take the jets out and make sure they are free from any dirt or debris and make sure the fuel is fresh and the fuel tap is working properly as it does have a vaccum tap and they do play up also make sure the fuel cap is breathing ok.
