Peugeot 2.0 HDI Can you help fix my headlights?

When turning on ignition sidelights come on and when started headlights turn on even though smart lights are switched off. Can you help? terry

When you switch on your ignition are you sure it's sidelights and not your headlight on dip-dim? Then with the engine running they brighten up? That is perfectly normal on most cars now. It's so you can't drive around on sidelights only because they are supposed to be parking lights only.
