Seat Alhambra auto gearbox?

I have a Seat Alhambra 1.9 TDI SE. Auto box wont changed from 2nd to 3rd gear but goes straight into 4th when going fast enough and misses 3rd when coming down gears. when in tiptronic it will change to 3rd on the dashboard but not in the gearbox however after driving for 20 or so minutes seems to start changing gears correctly. Any ideas, i'm thinking maybe oil needs changing but only guessing.
Please help.

As its 5 speed it has a JF506E transmission. This possibly is a bad solenoid that starts working as it warms up. Test live data to see if solenoid is switching electrically on the expected shift point. The normal fault with this box is slipping/no 4th and 5th. Its not likely to be computer fault. I dont get any management warning lights come on.

As you have not mentioned fifth gear I am assuming its a four speed. This could be a computer fault. It sits by the battery and gets water in from the bonnet shut. To be sure look at live data to see what is commanded and check for codes. Often there is no fault found. Unplugging the box or computer will provide third. Any thing more try a specialist www.fedauto.co.uk I cant imagine changing oil will fix this fault.
