the bottom of my frying pan has scratched the black hob surface of my electric cooker. is there a way of removing the appearance of scratches (whitened areas) without replacing the whole top hob surface?

ceramic hobs are very hard wearing and so very hard to clean up.If you dont mind a little elbow greace i would recomend some T CUT or SAFE CUT which is used to polish out scratches on your cars paint work.If you work it hard enough it will work wonders.I often polish mine and it looks like new.
