Computer will continually reboot and never allow a login?

My system is running XP Pro and will not stop rebooting, so it never gives me a chance to login, the only thing that I can do is play with the bios but I am not sure what can be done their to stop the rebooting, or put in the install XP cd. But I am not sure what the fix is or what is causing it.

Thanks for any help

some time in os drive or primary active root drive have some bad sectors that time facing this type problems so you do one thing boot with installation CD and select repair a command prompt will appear then give the check disk(CHKDSK) for the primary drive and restart the computes its solve.

If that doesn't fix it it could be that something is overheating on the motherboard. Some computers will shut the machine down if they get too hot. The other possibility is that you may have a virus.

hopefully you are sorted by now but ours was doing the same. We ended up replacing power pack - which (I have been told) is not unusual. Our fan was also playing up and overheating so it was probably the underlying cause..
