can you tell me what the tension should be?

I have just come by a cresta, whitfield of wolverhampton. Does anyone know what the tension should be? Sounds lovely and sews beautifully but cannot get the tension right.

Top tension about 4 or 5 and make sure you can pull the bobbin thread through with slight resistence
