I have a Samsung American side by side fridge freezer, there is a bad odour coming from the fan at the back, i've taken off the grill and hoovered and cleaned where i can see and reach but the smell still persists? Any ideas?

We had exactly the same smell - I have a little puppy and kept thinking he had peed somewhere near the fridge freezer and I'd missed it! But I tried and tried by cleaning all round and underneath it several times. I made my husband investigate the smell further and he found that when he took the grill off the back of our Samsung RS21DCNS side by side fridge freezer the water when defrosted had collected in a vessel inside at the back and after he cleaned it all that out with an aqua vac it didn't smell anymore. Hope it helps!
