how to fix central locking on bmw 525?

drivers door not locking on remote will only lock with key and wont unlock with either, have to lean over from back to unlock.

I had problems it was solinoid in door, but that was Ford Mondeo. I assume these systems are controlled the same way on most/all vehicles
