focus TDCI misfire?

53 reg focus 1.8 tdci, 111000 miles. engine has developed a intermittent misfire and the glow plug light comes on, engine runs rough. any ideas.

would not buy this car until the fault is fixed,a code reader may help to pinpoint your problem,it could be a number of things,prices for parts on some motors are getting scary so I wouldn`t be guessing at what it could be for a cheap fix.
