how do i change water pump on my gilera runner 50cc v reg?

I bout my son a gilera runner 50cc,and after a day or so noticed a slight water leak,at front of casing.Have no idea where pump is or how hard it is to change please help.some people say i have to crack engine (split)?

you may have to split the cases to do it,the best thing to do it take the transmission cover off(leaving the kickstart alone)then take the variator off and you will see the oil pump in there just left of the variator,this is driven off a small belt on the crankshaft this also drives the water pump take it all off and see iof there is a small 8mm bolt there if so you may be able to undo the bolt and pull the waterpump out and then replace the seals and then refit it again.the pump is pushed in with two orings i seeem to remember
