My glove box lid no longer opens smoothly. It used drop down smoothly as soon as the catch was pulled. Now it opens a couple of cms and stops so I have to pull it down all the way.
It also now has a scraping sound as I pull it down.
Is this a common fault?
Any help will be much appreciated.

The strange thing is, it worked perfectly fine until a a new amp. sub and speakers were fit where the golve box was removed no it doesnt.
A "mate" did the install but he isnt admitting to any cock ups so Im thinking about trying to sort it myself.
Could he have done something obvious that he has missed???

some of these have a damper which seizes you may get it as a spare part ,glovebox has to come out if u dont replace it lid ends up breaking
