fairweather nissan micra?

i have a nissan micra V reg, and starts on the button, untill it rains or the weather is damp,then it will not fire . also noticed smell of petrol after about 5 mins running but cannot see any leaks is there a sensor could cause this.

Dampness on distributor cap. Spray Holts dampstart or similar on distributor cap or try drying it with a hair drier!
