Valliant Boiler?

Is it safe to operate a Valliant boiler without the air turbulator installed? A repair person removed my air turbulator and said it should be fine. Now black smoke is pouring out my chimney and the entire house smells of tar. I called and he said it should be fine. Please Help

The general answer would be yes, on a temporary basis (very temporary overnight etc), with the front case fitted, it should be okay without the air inlet duct (although it will sound a bit 'throaty' in operation).

However, if your boiler is producing black smoke, turn it off immediately and get your engineer back to ascertain the cause.
