when i switched it on it would not tumble but made a slight noise and the filter care light came on i cleaned the filter but still would not work

hi, i had the same problem, i took off the top of the unit, and gave the drum a help in hand with a push which then it span, meaning to me me the motor is fine so it must of been the coil which charges or boost the motor, changed it, hay presto all working. total cost - £8 plus a few hours of your own time. bit of a bugger to get to mind, cheers, paul
