cg125 ('07) will not start even after replacing batery?

honda cg125 (2007) electric starter only.
refuses to start. began slowly, occassionally not starting but being able to bump it. have cleaned starter motor and replaced battery.
any idea?

unscrew the spark plug, click the spark plug into the plug cap so it is dangling on the wire, use INSULATED pliers to hold the plug lead, thats the wire NOT THE PLUG, hold it so the end of the plug is about 5mm from the engine casing, press the starter button, you want a bright blue spark to jump between the plug and the engine, if its yellow or not sparking, you need to look further into a spark problem, if its blue you need to look at fuelling

i would suggest checking the valve clearances too and if still no luck then check the compresseion mate these do suffer from burning vales so have a look and also its the sort of problem thaat gets progressively worse.these are very easy to work on and as they are a pushrod engine the head can be easily taken off and put back on witout messing with the valve timing
