Any ideas about vectra electrical faults???????

I have a Vauxhall Vectra SRI 2litre 16v. The other day i went out and after 5mins of driving the abs light and traction control light started flashing, also i lost all of my guages (speedo, temp, fuel). everything would go back to normal of about 1minute then go off again. Now there is a hugh power drain and the battery goes dead in a matter of mins Please help its driving me crazy!!!!!

Got exactly the same problem. I have a 2002 1.8 vectra that's been in and out of the garage 4 times over the last five weeks and it has still got the same faults as yours!

They've now replaced the whole dashboard fascia without remedying the fault and are now checking all the wires to the computer. I have been advised subsequently by a colleague that it is caused by faulty insulation displacement connectors detaching from multicore wires causing intermittent faults. Did you eventually get your problems sorted satisfactorily? Regards and seasons greetings.

hi there, possible short on the voltage regulator. that would cause you to loose all instuments. check all looms under facia/dash possible live cable chaffed through earth cable and check connections to the ecu. also check fusebox for burnt smell and associated wires!!
