Hoover Logic 1300 Washer/Drier - the drum won't spin?

My machine must be about 20 years old now and yesterday I noticed that the drum wasn't spinning on any cycle. I thought the belt might have snapped but it hasn't. Also I can spin it by hand so it's not jammed. My view is that the motor must have gone. Have you any idea how much it would cost to replace? Indeed, given the age of the machine do you think it worth replacing? Is there anything else that could be the cause of the drum not spinning?

Thanks in advance

the motor is obsolete,as are a lot of parts for the logic range, when you change the carbons, make sure you clean the dust from the brush ring,or you will get low insulation, this can cause shocks,or the circuit breaker to trip,i worked for hoover for 20 years, the logic range where brill, but then candy took over, all went down hill then, the parts that are still availiable, they are asking silly prices for, like the rear half assembly, dealer wanted £150.00 for it,it used to be £25,or so.

i have one of these on ebay if you are interested the postage going to be high if its the motor you want but it will be a damn sight cheaper than buying a brand new one please email me if you want it or look on ebay.

It may be the Carbon Brushes in the motor that are worn
down. Take the old ones out if they are worn down it may be worth buying new ones. Before going to the expense of a new motor or machine.
