how do i check the automatic transmission fluid level on my 2005 vauxhall ?

How do i check the automatic transmission fluid on my 2005 Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 cdti sri, as i am having trouble when i put it into drive nothing happens straight away and when it decides to it slams into gear and also on change down from 5th to 4th.

The dipstick is at the front low down on the box and probably bolted on 12mmm. The symptoms may be a bad brake switch designed to declutch at rest with brake applied. There may be a dealer fix to reprogram it to prevent this happening. Engine coolant contamination is also common. Check level by all means do NOT overfill

Check the oil with the engine running and the transmission in park.
