Now noticed when I depress my brake pedal the rear fog light symbol lights up on the instrument panel then when put indicators on they speed up and judging by a "horn response" I got today the rear indicators go off

sounds like a bad connection on one or both of your rear lights,check earth connection and also check connection to bulb board ensuring all connections are clean and tight,making sure bulbs and holders are also good connection.[best to get someone to operate all lights whilst you watch them!]
