the cable leading to the door contact has been completley cut through. i have been under the floor a pushed excess cable up and reconnected exactly the same colour for colour. as soon as i moved the cable the alarm went off and wouldn't turn off so i took the front panel off, entered the code and it stopped. now the panel has the tamper light on and the affected zone light (zone 8) is still on. how do i reset the panel back to normal?
You took the lid off the panel and didn't put it back?
Guess why you've still got a tamper fault.
Put it back, enter your code, once / twice, don't know with your panel.
If you've made your repair quickly, problem solved.

thats a little cryptic for me. i asume you mean as i took the front panel off thats why the tamper light is on but do you mean if i put the panel back on and re enter code all should be ok?

Think about what you did, then think why it sees a tamper.
Then put it all back together and try the code again.
