How do I reset my service light ('56 zafira)?

Can somebody help me reset the service light. I have tried the holding down of the brake & ode reset button then turning on the ignition. but nothing.

When I try this I first get ---- The afer afew seconds it reads insp
19000.

hi there,
Ho;ld the trip reset down until it displays insp(mileage).
Turn ignition on
Press brake pedal.
Reading should change to 19000
Turn ignition off.
