Removing a rear wheel from an MTD PowerPro rider, 10 years old?

The right one came off with some light hammering.

The left one, I did some heavy hammering and then got concerned I might break something. There are nocotter retainers or keys on either side, the ends of the axles are square, which fits into the square part of the hole towards the outside of the wheel hubs.

I soaked WD40. Saw something about PB blaster. Wondering about a wheel puller, does anyone know of one that works will on a rider ? Thinking more about a wheel pusher - pushing out on the inside of the hub, pushing against transmission housing - more like a spreader than a puller.

Any hellp would be appreciated

The rear wheels are usually held on with an "E" Clip on the
end of the shaft that has to be pryed off the release the
wheel. They are keyed to the shaft and the key may fall out.
