Miele Dishwasher G 894 SC is hung up on intake/drain. It should be draining at this point in the cycle but the light flashes, the water does not drain

Cancel the programme.
Start another programme & listen. Does the drain pump run ? A whirring noise.
Check the non return valve below the filter. Is the ball free ? Does the pump turn by hand ? Check here for restrictions.
Check drain hose for kinks or blockages. Try draining into a bucket.
