Mountfield SP247 self-drive broken?

Hi - I have a SP247 and the self drive keeps breaking down - I put it in for repair and it comes back OK but after a few cuts it fails again - anyone know how I can fix it myself - I'm not too good mechanicaly but have a few spanners!

This sounds like the drive belt keeps coming off? Usually, this happens because grass/dirt gas built up on the drive pulley on the gearbox, and pops the belt off. Usual cause - damage to the plastic cover allowing grass and debris in, or a damaged belt (likely if it fell off and got chewed by the blades).
