3 or 4 speed and symptoms ie no forward /no reverse/light comes on etc. Filter cannot be changed in situ on 4 speed units. Also changing the filter wont put clutch material back on the plates

not up on auto g/boxes but you could try changing the oil and filter which may help your problem
