can you repair audi sat nav systems?

my unit will iniatally work then after a while it say.s cant read disc, if you repress nav button, it will come on again, but starts to go off more frequently then it comes up, please insert disc and stops giving any directions.

Might be worth running a CD cleaner in the disc slot.
Problem might be build up of dirt on the CD lense
