Hotpoint TVM560 tumble dryer not heating up?

We recently replaced a snapped drive belt on a hotpoint TVM560 tumble dryer and now after putting the machine all back together - althought the machine turns fine when swiched on, it will no longer start when the start button is pressed and also it seems to no longer be heating up?!
