How do I get the assembly off the end of the shaft? There is a threaded shaft to bolt the head onto the end along with the nut that drives the head. I need to be able to see the spring that drives the whole thing from the end.

It depends on your trimmer model. You can look at some videos that we have posted online for customers who are installing the pivotrim trimmer head.

Regardless whether you are installing a new head it should shed some light on how to get your old one off.
