Vauxhall Astra Central Locking Fault?

I just purchased a 55 plate Vauxhall Astra and after getting home have realised the car won't lock. The garage wont do anything about it as it was sold as seen.

The Central Locking button on the dashboard works and you can hear all the doors lock but as soon as you open a door it unreleases all the locks. If I lock the drivers door all the other doors stay open including the boot so I literally cannot secure the vehicle. Also it seems that the sterio stays on and the warning sound for leaving a light on sounds. I have tried turning the key to lock twice also putting it in the ignition and pressing the fob but it doesnt make a difference and lastlt I have replaced the battery.

Many thanks

Hi My car is doing exactly the same and the garage has told me it may be my locking barrell inside the key ignition that has jammed

Opening a door from inside when all doors locked should unlock all doors-sounds normal.
Key fobs are always playing up so you may have a few faults.
If there is a fault on drivers door lock it won't lock other doors.
Temporarily try leaning in from pass side and lock drivers side. Then lock pass door with key and see if that keeps all doors locked. You may have to unlock from pass side to get in.
For stereo problem and light on buzzer- has it had a different stereo fitted. If it has, it may be wired up incorrectly.
